Dorothea Hollatz grew up in several German cities. In Erfurt she married the law teacher Hollatz, who died at an early age. In 1930 she moved to Darmstadt, where she published her first work "Der Sucher nach dem Wesentlichen" (1930). Many novels, short stories and poems followed. In 1960 Bertelsmann-Verlag awarded her the Novellenpreis. In 1975 "Zwischenbilanz", a volume of poetry, was published. Apart from her writing she was socially active during her life. She died in 1987 in Darmstadt. |
