Charlotte Elizabeth Digby was the daughter of Colonel Stephen Digby (1742-1800) and his wife Lucy Fox-Stranegways (1748-1787). In 1802 she became a Maid of Honour of Queen Charlotte. On 3 January 1803 she married her first cousin Reverend William Digby (c1776-1848) as his second wife. She died in Malvern of 'rapid comnsumption' in 1820. She had gone there hoping to improve her health. Her husband was a prebendary of Worcester Cathedral since 1813 and there she was buried. Her monument was created by Francis Chantrey (1781-1841), who never met her.
