She held engagements in Salzburg, Bremen and Bonn and performed for the german soldiers during the war. In 1942 she married the military physician Gerko Hoffmann and in 1943 their son Michael was born. But her marriage failed and she returned to her birthplace Munich. She continued her career as an actress and also worked for the radio. In 1952 she met the young actor Michael Ende and she convinced him to work with her for the Humanistic Union. In 1964 they married and in 1970 they moved to Rome. Ingeborg felt at home in the Italian capital and in their house in Genzano. Shortly after she saw "The Neverending Story", a movie version of her husband's "Die Unendliche Geschichte", she died of a lung embolism. Family Husband: Ende, Michael (1964-1985, Roma, Lazio) |
