Johanna Terwin debuted at the Stadttheater in Passau. After that she was engaged in Zürich and Munich. From 1911 she appeared in Berlin at the Deutsche Theater, the Berliner Theater and the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. She also appeared in several silent movies. One of the colleagues there was the famous Alexander Moissi and she married him in 1919. In the 1920s she worked at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna. In 1920 and 1921 she was the first Buhlschaft in "Jedermann" at the Festspiele in Salzburg. Both times Moissi was Jedermann. Moissi died in 1935. After the Second World War she returned to the stage in Göttingen in 1950. In 1957 she appeared for the last time on the stage in Berlin. She died in Zürich in 1962. 22/8/1920 | First performance of Hofmannsthal's "Jedermann" at the Festspiele in Salzburg. It was performed in Berlin in 1911 by Max Reinhardt and this time Reinhardt staged the play on the square before the Dom of Salzburg. Reinhardt was the director, Alexander Moissi was Jedermann and Johanna Terwin was Buhlschaft.
