Friedrich Beckmann discovered his talent as a comedian at an early age. He worked in theatres Breslau before he moved to the Königsstädtische Theater in Berlin after a rcommendation by Heinrich Schmelkas. There he became a favourite of the public. He married the soubrette Adele Muzzarelli in 1830 of 1838. In 1845 he was engaged at the Theater an der Wien and in 1846 he was contracted for life by the Hofburgtheater in Vienna. The Frierich-Beckmann-Stiftung is an organisation that supports German actors. |
