Edward Hacker was a line engraver who specialised in animal and sporting prints. He was also the Registrar of births, marriages and death for Kentish Town, St. Pancras, London. He worked for forty years for the "Sporting Review". He is the father of the painter Arthur Hacker. They were both buried at Brookwood Cemetery near Woking, not far from each other.
