Paula Miller performed on Broadway in over 20 parts between 1927 and 1948. In 1934 she married actor and acting coach Lee Strasberg. Their children John and Susan became actors as well.

After she became a member of the communist party she was put on the black list. She continued her career as an acting coach and she was Marilyn Monroe's coach and condifante until Monroe died in 1962. Paula Strasberg died of cancer in 1966.
