Oldest son of Friedrich von Schiller and Charlotte von Lengefeld. He studied forest service in Jena and Heidelberg. As a volunteer he served in the war against Napoleon in 1814. He obtained a position in forest service in Württemberg. In 1825 he married Louise Lochner (1804-1889) from Freudenstadt. In 1845 he was named Freiherr by king Wilhelm I of Württemberg. After he retired he lived in Stuttgart, where he died in 1857. On 3 March 2008 his remais were exhumed. His DNA was used to investigate if the skull in Weimar was his father's. The skull wasn't, but the DNA proved with 99.9999% certainty that Charlotte von Lengefeld (whose DNA was also sampled) was indeed his mother. 19/3/1803 | Premiere of Friedrich Schiller's "Die Braut von Messina" at the Hoftheater in Weimar. Schiller's nine year old son Karl played the role of a page. The play wasn't received well and for a long time it was considered to be one of his lesser works.
