Jerri Blanchard played in the movie "Follies Girl" (1943). From 1946 to 1948 she appeared on Broadway in the comedy "Burlesque" as Gussie. For three months, she had her own musical program on television in 1949, "Hotel Broadway". From 1940 until her death in 1984 she lived in a rented apartment in Manhattan. In 1983 she adopted Helen Mann, who was her flatmate since 1970 and was 67 years old at the time, so that Helen could claim rent control after Jerri's death. They were not in a lesbian relationship.
