Jan Herman Albregt was a famous actor, best known for his comical parts. He was engaged at the Schouwburg in Amsterdam, where he met the actress Wilhelmine Engelman. They married in 1852. He became the manager of a theatre company in Rotterdam where his wife was also engaged. In 1876 they returned to Amsterdam, where they lived at Vondelkade 55. He died there in 1879. Albregt was buried at the Oude Oosterbegraafplaats. In 1898 his remains were transfered to the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats. His wife died in 1902 and was buried beside him.
