Pierre-Maie Bossan was a pupil of Henri Labrouste. He specialised in ecclesiastical architecture. In 1844 he became architect to the diocese of Lyon, where he designed the neo-Byzantine basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière (1872-1884). He is also the architect of the église Saint-Georges in Lyon. Apart from firther churches he also designed funerary monuments at Valence and the Million-Servier tomb at the Loyasse cemetery in Lyon. |
