Irene Korb was educated at the Conservatory in Dresden. She debuted in 1942 in Liegnitz and held engagements at the stages of Cottbus, Berlin, Potsdam and Dresden. In 1949 she debuted in the movies in Wolfgang Staudtes "Rotation". In 1950 she received the National Prize of the DDR for her par in "Unser täglich Brot". Her first husband was the actor Gerd Frickhöffer, her second husband was the director Hans-Erich Korbschmitt. |
