Günther Anlauf studied with Heinrich Drake at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin. From 1956 until 1983 he worked as a restorer at the Schloss Charlottenburg in Berlin. In 1959 he was cofounder of the Galerie Zinke, but this gallery had to close its doors in 1962. He created many sculptures for public places in Berlin, among them figures for the Schloss Charlottenburg, the road-bear at Berlin-Heiligensee/Stolpe and the bears on the Moabiter Brücke. His grave was decorated with one of his own sculptures. |
