The painter Marie Ferdiand Jacomin was the son of Pierre-Louis Jacomin (1807-1882). His brother Alfred Louis Vigny Jacomin (1842-1913) and his niece Suzanne Angélique (b.1883) were also painters. He mostly painted landscapes and eshibited at the Salon from 1870. He won several medals, one of them in the USA in 1889. His painting "The Charms of Montchevreuil, forest of Saint-Germain" is at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

He died in 1902 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and was buried in François Bonvin's tomb at Le Pecq.
