Anita Dorris was born Anita Schmidt. She was the daughter of the owner of a printing business. After a short acting education she debuted in 1921 at the Stadttheater in Eger. After that she worked in Pilsen and Franzensbad. From 1923 to 1925 shewas engaged in Prague where she joined the stage with Paul Hörbiger and other well known actors. In 1926 she made her movie debut in "Die Mühle von Sanssouci". She had fifteen more parts in silent movies. In 1929 she appeared in the first German talkie "Mein Traum wär ein Mädel" next to Rudolf Platte. In 1930 she was in "Mach mir die Welt zum Paradies". Shortly afterwards she married the film director E.W. Emo on 28 October 1930 and on his request she gave up her acting career. On 8 Jne 1936 their daughter Maria was born. From 1939 onwards they lived in Vienna. She died there in 1993. Family Husband: Emo, E.W. (1930-1975) |
