Alexander Papendiek was born in Dresden as the son of a scenery builder. He was sent to the war for a short time before he took acting lessons and was engaged at the Staatstheater in Dresden. During the fifities he went to Berlin, where he appaered in movies and worked for the East German television. He was most popular as Oberleutnant Thomas in the "Blaulicht" television series (1959-1968). He married the actress Brigitte Plotzki (b. 27 Oct 1925). When he died in 1974 he was only 46 years old. |
