Jean Bauchet performed as an acrobat and as a singer at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. In 1955 he became the manager of the Moulin Rouge after it was taken over by Joseph and Louis Clerico. Later he was the director of the Casino de Paris and the Théâtre du Châtelet. In 1966 he built the Es Saadi resort in Marrakech. His tomb at the Montmartre cemetery in Paris attracts attention because of the large statue of a nude man on it. It was created by Richard Bernard many years before his death. |
