William Harries Tilbury was active on the stages of London from 1827 to 1861. He appeared at Covent Garden, Drury Lane and the Haymarket. He was the author of "The German Jew, or, The forest of Remival : a drama in three acts" (1831) and his best known work was "Counter Attraction, or, Strolling and Stratagem: a trifle as light as air" (1851). In 1853 he was in financial difficulties.
