Clemens August Karl Klenze was the son of Gotthelf Friedrich Klenze (1757-1813) and the brother of the famous architect Leo Klenze. He studied in Göttingen and Berlin and was Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Berlin. From 1833 until 1838 he was a member of the City Council of Berlin (the Stadtverordnetenversammlung). He married Therese Bremer. From 1824 onwards his friend Karl Lachmann lived at his house. After his sudden death in 1838 Lachmann published his writings. Klenze was buried at the Friedrichswerderschen Friedhof. In 1889 his tomb was moved to the Dorotheenstädtischen Friedhof. Related persons is brother/sister of Klenze, Leo von |
