Daughter of mechanic Julius Christian Hildebrand. When she was only eight years old she became a member of the Court Ballet and in 1913 she was admitted to the ensemble of the Residenztheater. In 1914 she made her theatre debut and she had several parts under the name of Emmy Hildebrand. Afther the First World was she was a star at the revues of Berlin, dancing and singing with Gustaf Gründgens and others. During the thirties she was also successful in the movies.
