Giulietta Paltrinieri was the daughter of the lawyer Giovanni Paltrinieri and his wife Claudina, who was a choirmaster at the Scala in Milan. After her father lost his money as a result of his racing hobby and her mother's sister Elisa Turconi took care of her and her sister Emy. Elisa was a mimic artist at La Scala and Giuletta was able to attend the ballet school of the theatre where she received the prima ballerina diploma. She debuted a the Teatro Regio in Turin and after a year she contracted by the new National Theatre in Prague, where she arrived in July 1885. There she met first dancer and ballet master Augustin Berger and it was love at first sight. She stated her dancing career in Prague but soon she was pregnant and she married Berger on 5 May 1886 in secret. Their daughter Bozenka was born in the summer and soon afterwards she resumed her dancing. But her health started detoriating and her performances suffered. In 1889 things worsened, she coughed and lost strength, probably from tuberculosis. She died on 11 November and was buried two days later at the Olsany cemetery.
