Ugo Zaccheo was a pupil of Filippo Franzoni. He worked as a drawing teacher in Locarno and at the Brera academy in Milan. Among his pupils was Felice Filippini (1917-1988), who worked in his studio. Zaccheo is best known for his portraits of mountaineers and fishermen and for his Ticino landscapes. He also worked as a woodcutter and as a stage designer. In 2010 a retrospective of his work was held in Minusio. |
