Ruth von Zerboni was the daughter of Walter von Zerboni di Sposetti (1875-1914). She had three sisters. After her father killed in the First World War, the family moved to Munich. She took acting lessons and was engaged at the Kammerspiele in Munich. Afterwards she worked in Heidelberg, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig and Berlin. Her first husband was the actor Harry Buckwitz. They divorced and from 1934 to 1939 she was married to the physician Hartmut Doermer. They had a son, Christian. With her third husband, the physician Wolf Dietrich Germer, she had a daughter, Ulrike. In 1947 she founded an acting school at the Villa Zerboni in Gauting near Munich. She managed the school until her death in 1991. Her students included Hans Claring, Lisa Fitz and Peter schamoni. OIn 1984 she received Gauting awarded her the Günther-Klinge-Preiss. After her death her daughter Urike Behrmann von Zerboni directed the school until 2011. |
