Adolf Ginsberg was the son of Benjamin Ginsberg, who came from Breslau and worked in Altstrelitz as a conductor and a teacher. Adolf was deaf from his birth. He grew up in wealthy circumstances and later he had residences in Berlin, Munich and Vienna. He painted portraits and landscapes but all his work is lost. He often visited Italy. In he died during an earthquake on the isle of Ischia near Naples at the age of 24. He was buried at the Jüdischer Friedhof Weissensee in Berlin. His brother Philipp and his sister Frida founded "Adolf Ginsberg Foundation" to support visual artists. |
