Elisabeth, princes of Schaumburg-Lippe was the daughter of Georg Wilhelm zu Schaumburg-Lippe (1784-1860) and Ida, princess of Waldeck and Pyrmont (1796-1869). In 1866 she married Wilhelm II of Hanau and Horowitz. They had no children. For many years she was active in the women's movement in Wiesbaden and she was in command of the Paulinenschlößchen Hospital during the First World War. |
