Rudolf von Milde was the son of the famous singers Hans Feodor von Milde and Rosa von Milde-Agthe. He was taught by his mother and debuted at the Court Theatre in Weimar in 1882. From 1886 to 1888 he sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Fron 1888 to 1894 he worked as a concert singer and as a teacher at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. In 1894 he sang at the Festspiele in Bayreuth and in the same year he was engaged at the Court Theatre in Dessau as first baritone. In 1897 he was Gunther in Wagner's "Götterdämmerung" in Bayreuth. He died in 1927 in Berlin.
