Lamberto Picasso grew up in Genoa, where he studied at the Technical Institute. In 1902 he started acting and in Rome he became part of the permanent cast of the Teatro Argentina. In Rome he formed his own Compagnia dello Spettacolo d'Arte. In 1925 Luigi Prandello engaged him at the Teatro d'Arte in Rome. Although this engagement didn't last long he played several important parts.

From 1928 to 1929 he directed the Teatro d'Arte in Milan. After this he worked more for the cinema than for the theatre. In 1943 he appeared with Rina Morelli in "Casa di bambola". He died in 1962 in Rome.
