Felix, Prince Yusupov is the son of Felix Nikolaievich Sumarokov-Elston and the father of the Prince Yusupov who is well known as the murderer of Rasputin.

On 4 Apr 1882 in Saint Petersburg he married Zenaida Yusupova, the heiress of the immensely rich Yusupov family. He took her name. Their oldest son Nikolai was killed in a duel on 22 Jun 1908. From 1914 to 1915 Felix senior was governor general of Moscow.
