Will Dohm worked at a bank in Dresden after the end of the First world War. He took acting lessons with Georg Kiesau and appeared on the stage in Dresden and at the Kammerspeiel in Munich. His first movie was "Unsere Emden" in 1928. In 1932 he played in a remake of this movie, now titled "Kreuzer Emden" and with sound. Other movies followed, among them "Tanz auf dem Vulkan" with Gustaf Grüdgens (1938). In 1938 he married Heli Finkenzeller. They had a son, Michael, and a daughter, Gaby. During the war he was a popular actor and he played in many movies, mostly comical parts. His last part was in "Die Fledermaus" by Géza von Bolváry. In 1948 he died in Munich, aged only 51.
