Laetitia Josephine Murat was the second child and the first daughter of Joachim Murat and Carolina Bonaparte. Her father was King of Naples and her mother was the younger sister of Napoleon I. She was named after Napoleon I's mother Laetitia. Her father was executed after Napoleon's defeat in 1815. On 27 October 1823 she married Guido Taddeo Pepoli, Marquis of Bologna. She was a well known salonière and received her guests at the via Castiglione in Bologna. Her nickname was Queen of Bologna and she was painted by Ingres, Benjamin Rolland and Louis Ducis.

Guido and Laetitia had four children and their son Napoleon Joachim would be mayor of Bologna from 1866 to 1868. After her death in 1859 she was buried at the Certosa cemetery in Bologna. Her tomb was created by Vincenzo Vela and is a monument to her father.
