Isolde von Conta came from a family of Huegenots and descended from Goethe's friend Karl Friedrich Anton von Conta. She grew up in Ostpreussen and studied singing and acting. She lived in Paris, where she published her first volume of poetry. In later years she lived in Munich. In 1969 "Insel im Ostwind" was published, in which she described the end of the Second World War at the isle of Rügen. Her married name was Hoffmann. |
