Hans Cossy took acting lessons from O. Kaiser in Cologne and debuted as Valentin in Goethe's "Faust" in Bas Godesberg. He worked in Bonn Wuppertal, Cologne and Munich. In 1946 he played in his first movie and television work followed. His first wife was Vera Brühne, who was convicted for murder in later years. They had a daughter, Sylvia (1941-1990). From 1965 to 1969 he was married to the actress Emily Reuer. He died in 1972 and was buried at the Waldfriedhof Solln in Munich. His first wife Vera died in 2001 and was buried in the same grave.
