Pedro Meylan studied art in Genève and Munich, where Adolph Hildebradt was his teacher. Early in his career he was actively supported by Carl Albert Loosli. Meylan created busts of poets and artists in a style that reminds of Carpeaux and Rodin. A sculpture by his hand was placed on the tomb of Hector Hodler who was known for his influence on esperanto.
