Ursula Deinert was born in Berlin but she was educated for the stage in Essen, where she debuted in 1934. From 1936 onwards she worked as a dancer in Berlin, where she performed at the Deutschen Opernhaus, the Komischen Oper and the Schauspielhaus. From 1936 to 1941 she had many movie parts, where she mostly danced and sang, but they hardly challenged her acting talents. In 1940 she appeared in "Jud Süss" in whch she played a prima ballerina. After the war she worked as a maïtre de ballet in Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Giessen. From 1954 to 1959 she was solo dancer at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin and also first solo dancer at the Staatsoper in Berlin. In 1961 she ended her active career and she worked as a dancing teacher at the Staatlichen Fachschule für Artistik in East Berlin. She was married to the scenery builder Dieter Berge. She died one year after her husband and was buried beside him at the Dorotheenstädtischen Friedhof in Berlin Mitte. |
