Karin Eickelbaum was the daughter of a merchant. She was educated at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover. She worked for theatres in Stuttgart, Mannheim and Munich. In 1968 at the Kammerspiele in Munich she was Polly in Brecht's "Dreigroschenoper" and in 1972 Luise Maske in Sternheim's "Die Hose". In the 1970s she performed in Berlin at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater and the Theater am Kurfürstendamm. During the 1970s she married the actor Hans Korte. The marriage failed and the merchant Knut Tesmer became her new husband. For the public she was best known for the Tatort series where she appeared in 20 episodes between 1974 and 1980 next to Hansjörg Felmy. In the 1980s and 1990s she could be seen in other television series. |
