Tatjana Sais danced in the ballet of the Opera of Frankfurt as a child. After she finished school she took singing and acting lessons. In 1931 she moved to Berlin and had engagements at several theatres. In 1932 she performed at the political literary cabinet "Die Katakombe". There she met Günther Neumann, whom she married in 1938. From 1937 onwards she was in movies and also worked for television. In 1948 she and Neumann started the cabaret "Die Insulaner". It was first performed as a radio program and later also on television. After she divorced Günther Neumann she married the British journalist Sir Hugh Carlton Greene (a brother of Graham Greene), with whom she lived in London during the last years of her life.
