Leopold Otto von Gaudi was a landowner in Pellen, East Prussia. Later he became Minister of Finance and Minister of War under king Friedrich II. He played an important part in the reforms that took place under Friedrich II. In 1785 he was enobled.

His monument on the Kirchhof Jerusalem und Neue Kirche I in Berlin was probably made by Sigismund Bettkober. It is one of the oldest monuments on the cemetery.
