Alfred Schneider was educated as a civil engineer. He performed as as a cycling artist, before he decided to work with lions. At a certain time he had sixty lions, but after his circus he went bankrupt he continued his performances with the lions that he had left. He was in direct physical contact with his animals, but in 1941 they attacked him and he died a few days later.
