Opened for burials: 1848 Closed for burials: 1945 St Sepulchre's Cemetery was opened at the same time as Osney Cemetewy and Holywell Cemetery after the older cemeteries in Oxford became overcrowded. New burials were forbidden in cemeteries within Oxford in 1855 but by 1887 this cemetery was overcrowded as well. Burials still took place until 1945. The chapel of the cemetery was demolished in 1970. In 2004 the cemetery was included in the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. |
