Opened for burials: 1843 The cemetery was designed by David Cousin and opened in 1843. It was the first garden cemetery in Edinburgh. In 1929 East Warriston House was converted into a crematorium. The cemetery was privately owned until it was bought by the Edinburgh Council in 1994. |
