Max Montavan was the son of a watchmaker. He grew up in Switzerland and studied at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique in Paris. He performed at the cabaret "Liberty's" before he started his career in the cinema and the movies in the 1950s. He played supporting roles in nearly 150 films. He often appeared in the films of Louis de Funès. He was close to him and attended his funeral early in 1983. Montavan died himself in Paris later that year of a heart attack. |
