Mimi Barthélémy came from Port-au-Prince. She was educated in Haiti and at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris. She lived in Latin America, Sri Lanka and North Africa. She received several prizes for her work for the theatre and her recordings. In 2000 she was named Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite and in 2001 She became an Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 2011 she received the Légion d'honneur. Director Maurice Barthélémy is her son. |
