Anita Durante came from humble circumstances. She was educated at a dramatic society and in 1919 she debuted in the theatre Petrolini's "Romani di Roma". She married the actor Checco Durante and after nine years with Petrolini she and Checco started their own company. She also played in movies, among them "Un americano a Roma". she continued her stage career until 1992 and she died in 1994, aged 96, after she fell from a balcony when she was cleaning her windows. Checco had died in 1976 and she was buried bseide him at the Cimitero Monumentale al Verano in Rome. Family • Husband: Durante, Checco (-1976) |
