Joaquín Arjona was the son of a soldier and of the actress Josefa Ferrer. He started his career in 1835. In Madrid he debuted at the Teatro Circo de Madrid. In 1865 he became a professor at the Conservatorio de Madrid. The painter Federico de Madrazo y Küntz painted his portrait. It is now in the collection of the Hispanic Society of America. |
