Daughter of Julius Alenfeld. Her first husband was Henry Ernst Daniel Springer (1840-1880). Her second husband was Robert Dohme, who was librarian to emperor Wilhelm I. After her husband died in 1893 she had a salon at the Corneliusstrasse in Berlin that became most prominent after Felicie Bernstein died in 1918.

She had telephone early and this enabled her to invite her guests quickly. Among her visitors were Lovis Corinth, Max Liebermann, Walther Rathenau and Maximilian Harden.
