Daughter of the Russian lieutenant-general Pyotr Moussine-Pouchkine. She had an affair with czar Nicolas I who married her off to the officer Sergei Vasilyevich Troubetskoi (1815-1859). In 1838 she bore a daughter, Sofia, who was probably the child of the czar. Shortly afterwards she left her husband and moved to France. She married two more times and for the last twenty years of her life she lived in Venice. |
