Giuluo Battiferri started his stage career in 1913 at the Compagnia Romanesca that was directed by Gastone Monaldi (1882-1932), who married Giulio's younger sister, the actress Fernanda Battiferri. Giulio married the actress Giuseppina Crescenzi (known as Pina Piovanoi) and often worked with her. After Monaldi's death in 1932 he worked for the Compagnia Romanesca.

He had started his film career in the era of silent movies, but it really took off in the 1930s. He played in "I giorni contati" (1962) and many other movies between 1936 and 1973. After his death in 1973 his ashes were placed in the niche at the Cimitero Monumentale del Verano in Rome of his wife, who had died in 1955. The actress Gisella Monaldi was his niece.
