Eva Vaitl took acting lessons and held her first engagement in 1940 Oldenburg. It seems that even before that, in 1939, she had a part in the movie "Premiere der Butterfly". Her next theatre stations were Breslau and Munich, where she joined the State Theatre in 1945.

After the war she had parts in several more movies and she did German voices for many foreign movies between 1947 and 1963. She also appeared on television in series like "Der Kommissar".

In 1975 she won the Bayerischen Poetentaler because of her promotion of Bavarian culture. Her last part was in the German television production "Zwischen Stuttgart und München" (1978).
