Doris Kiesow appeared in theatres in Rheydt and Dresden. In 1930 she married the actor Paul Verhoeven and she withdrew from acting to take care of their children Lis (b.1931) and Michael (b.1938). After 1945, she lived in Munich by then, she returned to the stage and appeared at the Kleinen Komödie and at the Münchner Kammerspielen. During the 1950s she also appeared in movies.
