Franz Greve worked at a bank in Munich before he decided to use his powerful baritone voice to become a professional singer. From 1882 to 1888 he was engaged in Zurich and Mainz. From 1888 until his early death in 1892 he worked for the Opera in Hamburg. He sang in operas by Meyerbeer, Verdi, Wagner and others. He married the opera singer Katharina Klafsky (1855-1896) who also worked in Hamburg. Family • Wife: Klafsky, Katharina (-1892) |
